Which files preview, and which formats we need
- Preview in the browser: common images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP), video (MP4, MOV) and PDFs. Other files are stored safely and can be downloaded.
- iPhone photos (HEIC) uploaded from the app are converted to JPEG so they show everywhere.
- For Instagram: photos must be JPEG, video MP4 or MOV. Instagram itself refuses other formats.
- Camera RAW files are kept untouched; we show the preview embedded by your camera when there is one.
