Reviewing a video: notes on the timeline
When a video is ready for you, you get an email and a notification with a Watch and review button. It opens aeuix Review at review.aeuix.com; sign in with the same email and password you use for aeuix one.
On a computer the screen has three parts: your videos on the left, the video with its timeline in the middle, and the notes on the right. On a phone the video and its timeline stay at the top, the notes scroll underneath, and the box for a new note is always at the bottom.
- Leave a note at a moment: pause where you want the change and start typing in the box under the notes. The note is pinned to that time and shows as a dot on the timeline.
- Mark a clip: press Mark in where the clip should start and Mark out where it should end (or drag the two handles on the timeline), then say what the clip is for and press Add clip. Clips show as orange bars.
- A note about the whole video: tick General note for things like music, pacing or colour.
- Find notes: click a dot, a bar or a note to jump to that moment. At this point shows only the notes around where you are in the video; Clips and Open narrow the list too.
- Reply, edit or delete: reply to any note; you can edit and delete your own.
When you are finished, press Request changes so we know your notes are in, or Approve if the video is good as it is. We tick notes off as we handle them, and when a new version is uploaded you get another email. Earlier versions and their notes stay under the version menu.
On a phone, −5 and +5 jump five seconds and the ‹ › buttons beside Mark in and Mark out move one frame at a time, so you can land a clip exactly. Once both ends are marked, ▶ plays just the clip and ✕ clears it.
Review is for feedback, not for keeping files: once a review is finished, the video and its notes are removed from Review. To keep a copy of a cut, use Download this cut in the ⋯ menu while the review is open.
On a computer the keyboard helps: Space plays and pauses, the arrow keys move one second, , and . move one frame, I and O mark in and out, and M starts a note.
